FROM THE COLLEGE ADVISER:
Things to consider:
College Visits! Most campuses are open to in person campus tours this summer! Consider taking some tours to get a feel for where you want to be after high school.
CBOS Opportunity Scholarships! You can earn up to 40,000 dollars in scholarship money by going onto your CollegeBoard Account and accessing the College Board Opportunity Scholarships. The first scholarship check on the list is due June 31st, College List Building!
Early Action Applications! If you are thinking about entering into an honors program at a college, consider doing Early Action. These applications will open this summer.
College Applications, FAFSA, and Scholarships! Once October hits, you're going to want to be ready to start applying to schools, filing your FAFSA, and preparing to apply to scholarships. Know your deadlines for this upcoming Fall Semester!
Early College! If you are in Early College, you WILL NOT be applying to schools or filing your FAFSA this year. You will do that during the Fall of your 13th year. You will still be eligible for incoming freshman scholarships for the following year.
SAT Announcements! Most colleges WILL NOT be requiring SAT scores to be submitted for admission. Most are going to be test blind/test optional. HOWEVER, they will still accept your SAT scores to award you with Merit Scholarships, so still consider sending them!
Consider scheduling an appointment if you have any questions or concerns! Once school is out I will be able to be reached at [email protected].
Have a great, well-deserved summer vacation!
