- Helpful reminders for preventing the spread of sickness:
- Remain at home if you are sick and avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are unavailable.
- Cover cough with a tissue or sleeve.
- We are routinely cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
- Early College Applications Available in D and E House Offices; due on March 12 to D-House
- PSAT/SAT Impact on Credit Recovery:
- Students will be getting letters on Monday if they failed a core course at AHS in math and English explaining that pending their success on the PSAT and SAT that they can potentially recover credit(s).
- Please review this information and make a plan with your student to prepare for the exam during testing week.
- Khan academy is the best resource, and their current math and ELA teachers have been doing test prep for months preparing them to succeed so make sure that they speak to the instructor personally.
- HOBY's flagship program allows high school sophomores to realize their leadership talents and to apply these in the school and community.
- Students attend three or four day seminars and participate in hands-on leadership activities, meet leaders in their state, and explore their own personal leadership strengths.
- Alpena High has sent representatives to this program for the past several years.
