STUDENT OF THE WEEK:
"Jenna is a team player and will help out without being asked. She takes on tasks eagerly and finishes the jobs given to her. Jenna always has a pleasant attitude not only with her peers but also with "outside" customers. She recently came into Campus Closet as a customer (not an employee), saw that I needed help with customers and jumped on a register to help out"
ARTIST OF THE WEEK:
Grade: 12
Project: Portraits
Artist Statement: The subject matter for this project was portrait drawings. There is no shading using pencil, only crosshatching lines to add depth and detail. The medium for this project was pen and ink. The big idea behind the artwork is up to the interpretation of the viewer. Many people could think that she's thinking or resting, but it's up to the viewer. I found this artwork to be quite challenging with all the line work.

CRISIS OF THE SKILLED TRADES:
We are mainly interested in getting young people and their parents involved so they think seriously about career options in light of opportunities that are more lucrative than meets the eye and in light of the impending shortage of people who have the skills/experience to fill the voids in the skilled trades. I am sure you are well aware of the details. It's also important for the general public to realize that the shortage of plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc.. is impacting us all and the statistics show a major crisis on the horizon.
